Thursday, January 12, 2012: We had the rest of our CCT presentations today. The final two days of class (Friday and Monday) will be spent reviewing for the exam.

Monday, December 19, 2011: We worked on our CCT's, or studied for the upcoming test. Most students handed in what they currently had done for their CCT. The test will be written in-class on Tuesday or Wednesday (each student makes his/her own choice).

Wednesday, November 16, 2011: We learned about the CO2 expenditures from raising food locally and globally, and worked on our projects. Tomorrow, I want to have a small quiz that doesn't count. It will encompass all of the climate change stuff that we've done since October 31.
Tuesday, November 15, 2011: We learned about some environmental initiatives that are going on in the world. We did 2-3 minutes presentations. No homework...but keep working on your projects.
Monday, November 14, 2011: We did an in-class activity about El Nino and La Nina - graphing the ocean's surface temperature over time, and learning what effects these phenomena have on Canada's weather. No homework.
Thursday, November 10, 2011: We created climatographs and I gave out a project. The project is due on Tuesday, November 22 and the Window of Opportunity closes when you leave school on Wednesday. Project Sheet:

Your homework: Use an online "Carbon Footprint" calculator to determine your approximate carbon footprints. Just make a wild guess if you don't know a particular number or fact. Just experience the estimation of your footprint. Bring in a copy of your results (on your laptop is fine).

Homework: Find two examples (each) of positive and negative feedback loops in the environment. For some examples, see this article from the Guardian
Friday, November 4, 2011: We watched a clip from "The Great Global Warming Swindle" and discussed ways that energy can be exchanged. No homework.
